Both moons are made of ice and dark carbon-rich soil. They are also pocked with craters. Muddy water seems to have flowed through cracks in Oberon's surface. That means the moon's interior was once active. There are huge cracks in the surface of Titania. When water inside the moon froze, it expanded. The expansion broke the surface causing the cracks.
